A Complex Engineering Puzzle
The primary challenge was designing an HVAC system that could effectively manage the thermal load from a large glass storefront, high-density lighting, and fluctuating customer traffic, all within a large, open-plan space with high ceilings. A further critical requirement was that all MEP systems—including air diffusers, smoke detectors, and sprinkler heads—be discreetly integrated to avoid compromising the brand's minimalist and modern store design.
Innovative & Efficient
We implemented a high-efficiency Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system, which provides flexible, zoned climate control to precisely manage different areas of the store, from the busy entrance to the quieter changing rooms. To match the interior design, we used concealed, slimline ducted units connected to minimalist linear slot diffusers that blend into the ceiling design. For fire safety, we installed a fully addressable fire alarm system with low-profile smoke detectors. The fire suppression system features concealed pendant sprinklers that sit flush with the ceiling, becoming visible only upon activation, thus preserving the clean aesthetic.
