A comprehensive, life-critical project to design and implement an intelligent, fully addressable fire detection, alarm, and suppression system for the Children's Hospital in Jamshoro. The paramount objective was to ensure the highest level of safety for its vulnerable pediatric patients and staff, protect invaluable medical equipment, and achieve full compliance with national and international healthcare safety standards.

A Complex Engineering Puzzle
The unique and critical challenge was to engineer a fire safety system for a facility with a high-density population of vulnerable occupants, many of whom are non-ambulatory. A standard fire alarm and evacuation strategy was insufficient. The system needed to provide clear, targeted instructions to staff to prevent panic, enable phased and safe evacuation, and suppress fires in sensitive areas like the NICU, operating theaters, and diagnostic labs without causing harm to patients or equipment.
Innovative & Efficient
We implemented a state-of-the-art, addressable fire alarm system that pinpoints the exact location of any incident. This system was integrated with a multi-lingual Voice Evacuation System to provide clear, calm, and pre-recorded instructions, a critical feature in a hospital setting. For patient-critical areas and rooms with sensitive electronics, a clean agent (Novec 1230) fire suppression system was installed to extinguish fires without water damage or residue. In all other areas, a wet-pipe sprinkler system was deployed. Crucially, the system was integrated with the hospital's nurse call system, ensuring that nursing staff receives immediate, direct alerts on their panels, accelerating response times.
Key Project Outcomes
Dramatically improved patient and staff safety, meeting the stringent requirements of NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) for healthcare facilities.
Reduced emergency response and evacuation coordination time by 50% through system integration with the nurse call stations.
Protected millions of rupees worth of critical life-saving medical equipment by using targeted, non-damaging clean agent suppression systems.
Completed the phased installation with zero disruption to patient care or hospital operations across all departments.

“The safety of our children is our absolute priority. Their team engineered a solution that goes beyond simple alarms; it's an intelligent safety network. The integration with our nurse call system and the use of specialized suppression agents in our sensitive wards demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique challenges in a pediatric hospital. The project was handled with utmost care and professionalism.”
