A Complex Engineering Puzzle
The primary challenge was designing a system to handle the heavy and constant customer footfall typical of a major mall anchor store. The HVAC system needed to maintain a consistently comfortable temperature and provide high levels of fresh air, counteracting the effects of mall air and high-density lighting, while the fire safety system had to meet the mall's stringent compliance and integration requirements.
Innovative & Efficient
We installed a high-efficiency packaged air conditioning unit with Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, allowing the system to intelligently adjust airflow to different zones based on occupancy, thereby optimizing comfort and energy use. A robust fire safety system, including an addressable fire alarm panel linked directly to the mall's central command and a comprehensive sprinkler system, was deployed to ensure rapid response and full compliance.
