A Complex Engineering Puzzle
The main challenge was the cinema complex. Each theater required a high volume of fresh air (high air change rate) to maintain comfort for hundreds of patrons in an enclosed space, and the HVAC system had to be acoustically treated to be completely silent. The fire safety system needed to address the unique risks of a high-occupancy entertainment venue.
Innovative & Efficient
We designed a dedicated HVAC system for the cinemas using low-noise Air Handling Units (AHUs) with high-efficiency filtration and sound attenuators in the ductwork. For fire safety, we installed an addressable fire alarm system with voice evacuation capabilities and a comprehensive sprinkler system designed for the unique layout of stadium-seating theaters.
