A Complex Engineering Puzzle
The core challenge was the complexity of a mixed-use high-rise. The HVAC system needed to serve the high-cooling demand of the retail mall during the day and the different, 24/7 comfort needs of the residential tower, all while ensuring acoustic isolation. The fire safety system required a unified yet zoned approach to address the different risks and evacuation strategies for a high-traffic public mall versus private residences.
Innovative & Efficient
We implemented a centralized, high-efficiency chiller plant with a four-pipe system, allowing for simultaneous cooling and heating to serve the diverse needs of the complex. Dedicated Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs) with BTU meters were installed for independent climate control and energy billing for each apartment and retail unit. The fire safety system features an integrated, addressable fire alarm network with a robust sprinkler system and dedicated smoke pressurization for the residential tower's emergency escape routes.
