A Complex Engineering Puzzle
The main challenge was to achieve high-performance climate control and complete fire safety coverage without any visual intrusion. The mall's architectural design featured clean lines, open ceilings, and high-end finishes, which required an innovative approach to hide extensive ductwork, sprinkler pipes, and other MEP components from the public eye.
Innovative & Efficient
We deployed a high-efficiency VRF system for its flexibility and minimal ducting requirements, which helped preserve maximum ceiling height. All indoor units were concealed, and we used custom-designed linear slot diffusers that blend seamlessly into the architectural design. For fire safety, we installed concealed sprinkler heads that sit flush with the ceiling and integrated fire alarm devices discreetly into the mall's interior, ensuring a safe yet aesthetically pleasing environment.
Key Project Outcomes
Successfully preserved the mall's high-end architectural aesthetic with 100% concealed MEP systems.
Provided a silent, comfortable, and draft-free environment, enhancing the premium shopping experience.
Achieved full compliance with all local fire and building codes for a major public assembly space.
Delivered an energy-efficient HVAC solution, leading to lower operational costs for the mall.

“At Square One, the customer experience is defined by our modern aesthetic. We could not have any visible ducts or pipes. Their team engineered a brilliant solution that is completely invisible but works perfectly. Their attention to design and detail is what sets them apart.”
